Assistant/Associate Professor, Tenure Track Faculty Position
The Biomedical Engineering Department at the New Jersey Institute of Technology (NJIT) invites applications for a faculty position at the rank of Assistant/Associate Professor beginning the 21-22 academic year.
Research expertise should fit and benefit from our collaborative research activities within the department, the Centers of Research at NJIT and neighboring institutes including the Center for Rehabilitation Robotics: centers.njit.edu/rehabilitation and the Center for Injury Biomechanics, Materials and Medicine (centers.njit.edu/cibm3). Specialties of interest include biorobotic design and fabrication, neural engineering, neuro-rehabilitation engineering, nervous system injury and orthopedic injury, sensors and control systems, computational and experimental biomechanics, biomaterials and tissue engineering. Assistant Director of Undergraduate Studies
The Department of Biomedical Engineering (BME) at the New Jersey Institute of Technology seeks candidates to fill an Assistant Director of Undergraduate Studies position. This position serves as the main administrator of the undergraduate biomedical engineering program. The job involves coordinating the curriculum, addressing academic administrative functions, advising students, and teaching classes. The Assistant Director will be responsible for maintaining the undergraduate curriculum including specifying course offerings, program and curricular track requirements, and advisement of students, course scheduling based on faculty input. maintenance of course offerings to meet enrollment and identify upcoming teaching needs to the Chair. Maintain an effective undergraduate advising process including premed student cohorts, liaison to the Center for Student Success for the advisement of first-year and transfer students, review published program information for accuracy and consistency, co-Chairs the BME Undergraduate Curriculum Committee. Proposed changes in the curriculum, degree requirements, etc. are communicated to the chair. Instruction of BME courses as assigned by the Chair of the department. Instructional duties will be within the maximum allowable contact hours for this position.
