The NJIT Biomedical Engineering Society is a student-driven organization devoted to serving the needs of NJIT’s students by organizing and coordinating events geared towards fostering knowledge and awareness in the rapidly expanding field of biomedical engineering.

The Biomedical Engineering Society (BMES) is responsible for keeping all students well informed of potential course and career options, expediting student-to-faculty connections, and creating an environment in which our members are free to grow and mature, not only academically, but professionally and socially as well. Some events the BMES has planned for the upcoming year include industry tours, on-campus research laboratory tours, and informative panels from both the NJIT faculty and alumni.

The Biomedical Engineering Society helps students explore various career paths, offering guidance and resources to help them make informed decisions about their future. This support not only benefits individual students but also enhances the overall academic and professional reputation of NJIT, contributing to the university’s mission of producing well-rounded, career-ready graduates. Past Events

  • Visit to Stryker Plant (Mahwah, NJ)

 

The Biomedical Engineering Society (BMES) Club visited the Stryker plant in Mahwah, NJ, in the early Fall 2024 semester. During the visit, undergraduate and recent graduate BME students gained firsthand insight into the medtech industry, specifically focusing on knee and hip replacements. They also had the chance to speak with a panel of NJIT alumni working at Stryker, offering valuable perspectives on various roles and opportunities available for biomedical engineers in the field.
