I'm a first year Biomedical Engineering Student in the Honors College. I'm also actively involved both on and off campus as I tutor for Jersey Stem and am a writer for the Honors College Technology Observer. I love to travel and give back to the community which is why I joined Global Brigades, an organization that helps set up medical clinics in impoverished communities. I'm also very passionate about dance and have been a Bollywood dancer and choreographer for the past 6 years.
Why I chose to attend NJIT:
NJIT has a a very reputable and established Biomedical Engineering Program which allows students to feel confident that this program will benefit them the more they invest in it. Also, its proximity to opportunities for internships and co-ops in New York City was a very enticing factor for me.
What I like best about NJIT:
I like the NJIT community as a whole because here you're not simply a number. You have the opportunity to develop close relationships with professors and peers which helps ease the transition to college life.
My goals after graduation:
After I graduate, I hope to attend medical school and pursue my passion in the field of medicine.
My advice to prospective students:
Stay focused! Biomedical Engineering is one of more difficult programs here at NJIT, so it's easy to compare yourself to others and get distracted. You just need to be able to find a healthy balance between school and socializing in order to obtain your goals and have fun while doing it!
