I am a Junior in the Biomedical engineering program and plan to pursue the BS/MS Program. I do research under Dr. Foulds in the Rehabilitation Engineering Center, along with work for Biomet part time in their Spine and Bone Healing Technologies facility. Away from the BME department Iam, very active on campus. I am President of the Emergency Medical Services Society, Treasurer for Biomedical Engineers Society, very active in a fraternity, and a Resident Assistant.
Why I chose to attend NJIT:
As soon as I attended an open house in my junior year of high school, I was impressed with everything about the school. I also loved the city atmosphere and the location to New York. My father is an alumnus of the mechanical engineering department and had always told me great things about the school. Just walking around the campus I knew I had found the perfect home.
What I like best about NJIT:
Without a doubt, I like NJIT because of the small school atmosphere and the personal relationship a student is able to develop with the faculty. I feel the opportunities to get involved with research as an undergraduate here is unmatched at any school I have ever heard of.
My goals for after I graduate:
After I graduate I plan on continuing to pursue a masters degree in BME. As a career I hope to work in the medical device research and development field.
My advice to prospective students interested in Biomedical Engineering at NJIT:
BME is perfect for anyone who loves problem solving and helping people. The problems you are challenged with will force you to look at things from a thousand different angles and the end results are extremely rewarding. Of course, the best advice for an incoming BME student is to STUDY, STUDY, STUDY.
