I graduated from the Technical University of Catalonia (Barcelona, Spain) in Telecommunication Engineering with a major in Microelectronic Devices and Electronic Systems of Sensors and Actuators. I obtained my PhD from the National Center of Microelectronics (CNM, Spain), where I developed microfluidic devices actuated by ferrofluids.
After working for about a year at the Laboratory of Integratable Systems (University of Sao Paulo in Brazil), I joined George Whitesides´ group (Harvard University, Dept. of Chemistry and Chemical Biology)--first as a postdoc and later as a research fellow. I joined NJIT in August 2008.
