West Orange, NJ
I am a commuter, a member of the Albert Dorman Honors College, a math tutor at ‘The Learning Center’, and a researcher at a Biomaterials lab on campus. I enjoy recreational sports like Frisbee, tennis, ping pong, etc. I also have a passion for art and music.
Why I chose to attend NJIT:
The main reason why I choose NJIT was because of the well reputed BME department. I also found it pleasing that there were so many options to commute like the train, bus, and the light rail. The low tuitions made this college the best to invest in.
What I like best about NJIT:
My favorite part of NJIT is the diversity, I enjoy having friends of different religions and nationalities yet with the same goal of graduating NJIT together. For me, working together with my friends on homework and studying for exams is the only (fun) way I have succeeded as a BME. I also love the small campus and the friendly environment.
My goals after graduation:
My advice for prospective students:
After graduating I wish to work for corporates with biomechanic firms (ex. Merck, Stryker, JnJ, etc). I do want to pursue a masters as well before I reach for my final goal, which is to work for NASA.
If you are curious about all types of sciences (chemistry, physics, and biology), and want to see how they can be incorporated together, then definitely go for BME. It requires a lot of passion, dedication, and hard work. When you work through it, you will find it as a very rewarding major.
