Bio-Mechanics/Rehabilitation Engineering

Parsippany, NJ

Class standing:
Second Year Masters Student

About me:
I am currently a second year master's student graduating in December. I did both my undergraduate and currently pursuing a graduate degree at NJIT. I was in the BS/MS program that NJIT has to offer. I also went through the process of applying to medical school but choose to continue to finish my master's degree. I was a teacher assistant for Dr. Mantilla at NJIT.

Why I chose to attend NJIT:
It offered an outstanding Bio-Medical Engineering program that was close to home. NJIT gave me a great opportunity to advance my self academically while exploring other opportunities.

What I like best about NJIT:
The thing I like about NJIT is the size of the Bio-Medical Engineering department and the personal attention that one student gets. The BME department is a very small and close community at NJIT. This includes the professor and all the students. Students and professors go out of their way to help one another.

My goals for after I graduate:
Once I graduate with my master's, I would like to work in industry to gain some experience. Eventually I would like to further continue my education and do research.

My advice to prospective students interested in Biomedical Engineering at NJIT:
My advice to prospective students is that BME is not easy but very rewarding. BME allows students to focus on something that they really enjoy learning and can lead to many opportunities later. If you have any questions about BME or BME at NJIT please feel free to contact me!
