The Biophysical Bases of Normal and Abnormal Correlated Activity in the Brain
Understanding brain function – and dysfunction – is among the great intellectual challenges of the 21st century. I will describe several studies of temporally correlated activity in the mammalian cortex, which arises via the complex interplay of a number of biophysical mechanisms. New instruments and molecular-biological constructs play an important role in this story.
