Title:
Case Studies in Prolific Product Development

Abstract:
As students enter their careers, they will be tasked to integrate their education into a broad set of skills in order to enable new product development. Through a series of cases studies, John Crombie will walk through the design challenges he faced and his responses, from his first project to his most recent. He will share with you the techniques he has developed to enable him to patent 30 devices and commercialize many more. He did this while working across 7 companies, including Stryker, Johnson & Johnson, and Allergen. His product development methods have resulted in over $2 billion in sales for these companies. You will leave with practical new tools and techniques for critical thinking, problem solving, and translating ideas into commercially viable products.
