Title:

The mysteries of dentistry - a study in empiricism

Abstract:

Biomedical engineering is a relatively recent discipline.  Restorative Dentistry as a health service is much older. The development of clinical procedures by the dental profession will be discussed. The advent of computer technologies and the science of biomedical engineering are both expanding the horizons and the sophistication of the clinical discipline. The opportunities that these disciplines working together present will be highlighted.
