New Jersey Institute of Technology (NJIT), NJ’s leading public technical university and emerging leader in biomedical engineering, invites applications for a tenure-track faculty position at the Assistant or Associate Professor level with a research concentration in cell and tissue engineering. 

NJIT offers BS, MS, and PhD degrees in Biomedical Engineering (BME) and other related engineering disciplines.  The PhD program is joint with the University of Medicine and Dentistry of New Jersey (UMDNJ), which is located adjacent to NJIT in Newark.  NJIT has collaborations and research activities with UMDNJ Departments of Medicine, Orthopaedic Surgery, Neurosurgery, and the Cardiovascular Research Institute.  NJIT has recently received funding from the state of New Jersey to create a 100,000 square foot facility for stem cell research, which will be a multi-university, interdisciplinary endeavor dedicated to creating technologies to translate basic stem cell research into practical and deliverable therapies.  This building will be neighboring the Public Health Research Institute (PHRI), a division of UMDNJ, which offers strong research programs in immunology, genomics and proteomics with state of the art equipment.  Strong research collaborations also exist with the nearby, top-tier Kessler Rehabilitation Institute, and biomedical device and pharmaceutical companies in the New Jersey area.
